Charles Fleury Ottawa Murder-Suicide: Two Children Found Dead in Findlay Creek

Ottawa police continue to investigate what authorities describe as a complex and tragic case after two young boys were found dead inside a home in the city’s Findlay Creek neighbourhood Monday morning.

Officers were called to a residence on Mandevilla Crescent at approximately 10 a.m. to conduct a wellness check, according to the Ottawa Police Service.

Inside the home, investigators discovered two boys, ages 7 and 12, deceased.

Police are treating the case as a suspected double homicide–suicide.

Authorities later confirmed that the children’s father, identified in public reporting as 29-year-old Charles Fleury, was found deceased in a vehicle fire reported earlier that morning at a carpool lot near Highway 416 and Rideau River Road in Kemptville. Investigators believe the incidents are connected.

Ottawa police described the investigation as ongoing and said officers are continuing to establish the timeline of events.

Police activity remained visible throughout the day in Findlay Creek as investigators secured the residential area and examined the scene. Sections of Mandevilla Crescent were closed while officers moved between homes collecting evidence and conducting interviews.

The investigation extends beyond Ottawa city limits.

The Ontario Provincial Police are maintaining two additional scenes in eastern Ontario believed to be connected to the case—a commercial fire in Iroquois and the vehicle fire scene in Kemptville. Investigators continue working to determine the relationship between all three incidents.

Authorities stated that there is currently no indication of any ongoing threat to the public.

Police have not publicly released further details regarding motive or circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Anyone with information that may assist investigators is asked to contact the Ottawa Police Service Homicide Unit at 613-236-1222, extension 5943, or submit anonymous information through Crime Stoppers.

The deaths have deeply affected the community and left neighbours, first responders, relatives, and loved ones searching for answers as the investigation continues.
